An innovator in communication networks was looking to upgrade their ageing pumps and controls. With six pumps powering their heating and cooling process, the absence of inverter-driven mechanisms meant that these pumps ran continuously at full capacity, resulting in expensive energy consumption.
Dura Pump was entrusted to deliver a comprehensive solution from design to installation. We recommended six new Grundfos energy-efficient, variable speed-controlled centrifugal pumps accompanied by upgraded pipework, bellows and a VSD inverter-driven control panel. Our expert team executed the mechanical and electrical installations, including cables, isolators, and bellows, completing the project within two weeks with the assistance of three engineers.
We anticipated substantial energy savings with this solution, estimating a payback period of circa two years. The excellent news for our customer was that the savings meant the project will now payback in less than a year and they are seeing circa a 60% saving on electricity usage.
The customer now has a completely new and reliable energy-efficient plant room which is delivering them significant cost savings and operational efficiency.
