A provider of heat treatment and hard coating services to the manufacturing industry required a pump system upgrade. They contacted Dura Pump to find a solution.
Dura Pump recommended that the customer upgrade their existing pumps and controls to increase the duty of their pumps. This meant that each pump could run without the assistance of the other. We also advised installing a backup generator on the pumps, in case of power loss to the site.
We removed the old pump system including pumps and control panel and, in their place, we installed two KSB Etabloc end suction pumps with 37.0kW IE3 motors, pre-mounted on a skid frame. These are controlled by a variable speed dual control panel which has Grundfos CUE2 37.0kW inverters.
The generator supplied was an 80.0kVA super silent diesel generator with a Cummins 4BTA3.9-G2 diesel engine with a run time of 12.5 hours.
The upgraded pump system is delivering increased flow and pressure. This allows the plant to run at full capacity, increasing productivity. With the generator backup the plant can run with minimal downtime. The inverter drives control the discharge pressure to maximise efficiency and reduce running costs.
