How to get the most energy efficient pump system
Did you know, pumps currently account for 10% of the world’s total electricity consumption?
There’s a huge opportunity to reduce this and to save energy by optimising the efficiency of your pump system. Here at Dura Pump we can deliver energy saving pump solutions, taking each project on an individual basis and creating a system that’s entirely tailored to your needs. The result? You’ll reduce your impact on the environment AND save money.
Our Energy Saving service can be split up into 4 key areas…
We carry out an initial site survey, examine how your pumps are working and assess the amount of time and money that’s currently being expended. Then using the latest flow analysis software, we can determine where energy is being lost in your processes.
Once we have established where energy is being lost we assemble our ideas to improve your system, providing you with our recommended redesign that will lead to significant savings. We advise you on how much you will need to invest, along with an estimate of payback time.
Upon installing the redesigned solution we carefully plan how to minimise downtime so there’s as little disruption to your productivity as possible. Before leaving, our skilled engineers will make sure they’re 100% confident that the system is running to optimum efficiency.
In order to continue running with maximum energy efficiency, your pump system will need to be maintained. We offer a full service contract called Proserv which will give you peace of mind that your pumps are operating at full performance and are still saving energy and reducing wear and tear.
Could you save £250,000?
An injection moulding company had experienced consistent failures over 2 years from their chiller pumps. We carried out a site survey and fed the data through our flow analysis software, which gave us the necessary pressures, friction loss, flow rate and load information we needed to design a new system. We specified, sourced and supplied 8 new 15kw centrifugal pumps and installed them without even turning the system off, saving on downtime.
Since the work has been carried out there have been zero pump failures. We keep in contact with the company and help to maintain and service their equipment. Within just 6 months they had achieved payback and over the last 5 years they have saved 500,000kw per year, which is £50,000 per year saved on power alone and £250,000 in total over the 5 years. A huge saving and undeniable success!
