During the routine bi-annual inspection of our client’s cold water booster sets, heating pumps, pump stations, and pressurization units with pressure vessels, we detected a critical problem. Specifically, one of the Grundfos TPD 65 shunt pumps was found to be leaking, and there was a high risk that it could fail during the peak winter season, resulting in a catastrophic loss of heating for the building.
To address this issue, our proactive maintenance team provided a quote for the necessary repairs on the pump. Once the client issued a purchase order to proceed with the work, our team promptly visited the site. We disassembled the pump, replaced the malfunctioning mechanical seal and casing gasket, meticulously rebuilt the pump, and conducted rigorous testing to ensure the system’s full functionality was restored.
Thanks to our proactive maintenance approach and the expertise of our engineering team, the client was able to avert a major heating system failure. This incident underscores the value of having a proactive maintenance schedule in place, allowing us to detect and resolve minor issues before they escalate into significant problems.
